All-Inclusive Marsa Alam Resorts With a Real House Reef
Most all-inclusives advertise "house reef." Few actually have one. Here's what to look for.
All-Inclusive Marsa Alam Resorts With a Real House Reef
A real house reef means you walk off the beach, descend, and dive. No boats, no transfers, no extra fees. In Marsa Alam, only a handful of all-inclusives qualify.
What to check before you book
- Depth from shore. A reef that starts in 1m of water is a snorkel reef — beautiful, but not divable from shore.
- Entry point. Is there a pier or jetty? A platform? Or are you scrambling over coral?
- Current direction. A good operator briefs you on the drift.
- Tank refills on the beach. This is the test. Real house-reef resorts have a tank station at the beach.
At Shoni Bay
We have all four. Step off our pier and you're on a vertical drop covered in soft corals.
